Localising the supply chain is a simple but effective way to help the environment.
And by choosing Broxap our partners in Staffordshire are supporting the local economy too.
We’re celebrating Staffordshire Day on May 1 by giving our neighbouring local authorities, parish and town councils, schools and contractors the chance to find out more about Broxap Limited.
We are specialists in the supply and manufacture of street furniture; external seating; litter bins and recycling bins; bollards; planters; canopies, shelters and walkways and cycle parking products.
Over the years we have grown to also offer playground equipment and outdoor fitness equipment – and as it’s our business to help transform outdoor spaces it’s only natural we want our home county of Staffordshire to benefit from the products designed, manufactured and installed by our teams.
The theme of Staffordshire Day in 2023 is Learn Something New so we’re lifting the lid on the impressive work going on behind the gates of our Chesterton production facility.

Broxap Street Furniture

Family-owned Broxap was founded by Sydney Lee in 1946, starting out in Clare Street, Harriseahead as Hillsyde Foundry.
As the workforce grew, the business purchased a new larger site in Chesterton in the mid 1970s where the business still trades from today.
It wasn’t until 1992 however that the company took on the Broxap name after acquiring Broxap and Corby from Manchester.
And by 2000 Broxap and Corby Ltd merged with Hillsyde Foundry (Staffordshire) Limited to form one business.
Broxap is a leading designer, manufacturer and installer of street furniture in the UK, employing more than 220 people with all operations sited at Rowhurst Industrial Estate.
Sydney’s two sons John and Robert Lee joined the family firm at an early age and now their daughters, Stacy and Rachel respectively, actively work in the business. Chairman John, who was well respected in the Staffordshire business community, sadly passed away in 2022, having dedicated his working life to the success of Broxap and its outdoor fitness and play divisions Sunshine Gym and Hand Made Places.

Broxap: A Single Source Supplier

With a series of acquisitions behind the company, Broxap is an expert in the delivery of outdoor infrastructure, working on prestigious projects across the UK including the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.
Every order is crafted with care, but our teams are particularly proud to work on projects in their home county.
You can admire the Sir Stanley Matthews statue outside the Bet365 Stadium from the comfort of a Blyth Seat; staff at the Royal Stoke Hospital have beautiful, peaceful rest areas with canopies and seating in hospital courtyards; we’ve customised flower basket holders in Stafford town centre with the iconic Staffordshire Knot; traditional finger post signage directs tourists, visitors, residents and commuters around popular destinations county-wide and our covered walkway safely guides pedestrians across the busy Jasper Square Retail Park in Tunstall.
As a single source supplier for outdoor improvements, our clients have access to a wealth of unrivalled expertise.
And we want to share that with more schools, colleges and universities, improving the health and wellbeing of pupils through outdoor gym installations.
We want to inspire pride in the area with the installation of customised litter bins and recycling bins unique to each village, town, city or neighbourhood.
At Broxap we believe in creating inclusive outdoor spaces, such as playgrounds where all children and visitors can enjoy time together.
We want to contribute to cleaner air and reduced congestion through the provision of cycle parking infrastructure and products to support active and sustainable travel routes.
And we aim to support the success of fellow Staffordshire businesses by helping them to maximise the use of their outdoor space and make the most of their assets through the provision of canopies and shelters.
