Broxap’s guide to English Tourism Week

English Tourism Week is all about celebrating the places and sites which support the economy by drawing in visitors from all over the world.
Here at Broxap we have had the privilege of working across the country in some of the very best tourist locations.
From stunning centrepiece canopies to comfortable seating to take in the sights, we are proud to have designed and supplied a wide range of products to give guests the warmest of welcomes.
To mark English Tourism Week, which runs from May 22-31, we are showcasing some of the jewels in the sector’s crown where Broxap has made its mark.

Alton Towers, Staffordshire

We have to start off with one of the best-known theme parks here on our doorstep in North Staffordshire.
The Alton Towers Resort is set in more than 500 acres of countryside offering events, short breaks, and rides and attractions.
In CBeebies Land, Broxap was approached to design four bright and stylish Kite Tensile Structures to offer shade and shelter to families making their way about the park.

Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire

This world-class racing venue is best known for Royal Ascot. Bringing together pageantry, fashion and style, all eyes turn to the Berkshire racecourse for this midsummer fixture.
Broxap was commissioned to create an architectural bandstand as a traditional complement to the Ascot’s modern grandstand.
Singing around the bandstand still takes place to close each day of the Royal Ascot festival.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London

England’s exciting capital is packed with attractions from iconic sightseeing venues to the world’s best museums and galleries.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a public legacy from the hosting of the 2012 Olympics, brings together sport, arts, culture, play, food and drink.
Exploring the park by bike, or visiting the Lee Valley VeloPark, is extremely popular – and Broxap cycle parking is an essential part of offering a safe experience.

Vauxhall Holiday Park, Great Yarmouth

Who doesn’t love a trip to the seaside?! With beaches, funfairs and loads of animal and wildlife attractions, Great Yarmouth is a brilliant family destination.
The Vauxhall Holiday Park run by Parkdean Resorts also boasts swimming and sports such as snooker, mini-bowling and adventure golf. And a stunning tree house adventure playground is one of the best-loved outdoor features for guests – custom-built for the staycation destination by our Hand Made Places division.

The Mere, Knutsford

Escaping the hustle and bustle for some R&R in the country is what England does best.
With a championship golf course and luxury wellness centre, The Mere is one of the country’s most prestigious short break venues.
The exclusive resort has always made the most of its stunning outdoor location. And thanks to the installation of a canopy designed and built by Broxap, members and visitors have been able to enjoy outdoor spinning and other gym classes for some time.

The Scallop Shell, Bath

What is a trip away without the chance to sample the very best local cuisine?
Celebrating the quality and provenance of seafood from UK shores, The Scallop Shell in Bath has built a fantastic reputation for serving up traditional favourites and seasonal delights – fish and chips like no other.
In the world heritage city of Bath, it took inspiration from our Pierhead Seat to commission Broxap to design and build a series of double-sided dining booths.

After 12 months like no other, we wish all of our partners in the tourism industry the best of luck for 2021 and beyond.
