Barry is a vibrant coastal town with a bustling high street, as well as the Goodsheds and Innovation Quarter - a shopping, eating and relaxing destination. The area is famous for golden beaches, family amusements, colourful beach huts and the hit TV show “Gavin & Stacey”.
Broxap worked in collaboration with Barry Town Council to design and manufacture new Weyburn benches and Weyburn Seats along the town’s popular seafront promenade.
The project included the installation of a number of new benches, made from durable steel with a waterside finish – a coat of a zinc rich primer before being powder coated in RAL 5003 (Sapphire Blue). The finishing and colour were selected to blend with the natural surroundings and withstand the harsh coastal weather conditions.
The ergonomic design of the benches provides maximum comfort, encouraging longer stays and more frequent visits to the seafront.
The improved seating has transformed the promenade into a more inviting space, encouraging people to spend more time outdoors, engage in conversations, and enjoy the scenic ocean views.
