The Gasworks is one of Belfast’s most famous landmarks. The park’s distinctive funnel and clock tower mark the site where the city’s gas-making industry began production in the 19th century.
Today, the site is home to a business park, as well as a hotel, shops and enterprise workshops. The area itself has been re-landscaped and offers a quiet place to escape from the bustle of the nearby city centre.
It is ideal for a pleasant walk or cycle along the river towards Donegall Quay or upstream to the Lagan Towpath and Lagan Valley Regional Park.
Broxap Limited supplied 400 linear metres of BX 1577-6 Quayside Curved Ductile Iron Post and Rail. One of Broxap’s most popular designs, our Quayside Curved post and rail was adapted for use to include a lo-level rail to prevent litter from blowing into the waterside.
This project demanded that the post and rail followed the same curvature of the quayside perimeter and was achieved by radiusing the rail tube to create the various changes in direction evident in the final installation.
A Hi-Build Micaceous Iron Oxide paint system was used to ensure the corrosion resistance of the product within the harshest of CM5 marine-side environments.
The products were supplied by Broxap Limited from their Chesterton based head office directly to Northern Ireland, delivering on-time, to agreed programme and within quality expectations.
