Custom Curved Seating for Informal Spaces
At the heart of the scheme are the custom timber and concrete curved seating elements, designed to create attractive informal gathering spaces throughout the campus. The combination of robust concrete and natural timber provides a contemporary appearance while offering the durability required for a busy public-facing environment.
The curved form helps create a softer, more organic feel within the surrounding landscape and encourages people to sit, meet and spend time outdoors.

Flexible Seating for Staff and Visitors
This was complemented by Mild Steel and FSC Certified Timber Benches, providing a more traditional seating option with a strong, durable construction and responsibly sourced timber.
Medway Seats add further flexibility to the campus seating provision, offering a simple and practical solution for areas where comfortable individual or shared seating is required. Their robust construction makes them well suited to regular use, while their straightforward design integrates easily with the wider landscape and furniture scheme.
Supporting Active Travel and Secure Cycle Parking
The Wardale continuous run of cycle shelters provides covered space while maintaining a consistent and coordinated appearance across the site. The shelter system offers protection from changing weather conditions, giving pedestrians and bike users easier access to active travel infrastructure.
Supporting sustainable travel was another important consideration, with Sheffield Cycle Stands providing secure and convenient cycle parking for people arriving by bike. Their familiar, practical design allows cycles to be parked and secured easily, helping make cycling a convenient option for staff and visitors.

Managing Access Across the Campus
Access and movement around the campus are supported by a range of carefully selected control measures. Stainless Steel Door Barriers provide a clear and robust means of managing pedestrian and vehicle movement around entrances and restricted areas, while the Height Restriction Barrier helps control access for vehicles where required.
Using stainless steel for the door barriers provides a clean, contemporary finish that complements the modern character of the campus while offering the durability needed for a busy environment.
Integrated Recycling Facilities
Waste management has also been integrated into the overall site design through the installation of Stainless Steel Quad Recycling Bins. Providing dedicated recycling facilities encourages responsible waste disposal while helping to keep the external environment clean and well maintained.
The stainless steel construction offers a hard-wearing and contemporary solution that fits naturally alongside the other furniture, while the multi-stream format makes it easier for users to separate different types of waste at the point of disposal.

Supporting Birmingham’s Health and Innovation Community
Birmingham Health Innovation Campus is a major new development at the heart of Birmingham's growing health and life sciences sector, bringing together organisations from healthcare, research, technology and innovation. Located within the wider Birmingham Life Sciences Park, the campus is designed to encourage collaboration and create an environment where businesses, researchers and healthcare organisations can work alongside one another.
The outdoor spaces form an important part of that environment, providing welcoming places to meet, travel, rest and connect. Broxap’s outdoor site furniture helps support this vision by creating practical, attractive and durable external spaces for the people who live, work and visit the campus.
