At Carlton le Willows Academy, the recent £13 million expansion has brought creativity and practicality to the outdoor space.

Working with Clegg Construction, Broxap were appointed to design and manufacture two unique glazed canopies to complement the new two-storey building that houses a state-of-the-art performance space, dining hall, 20 new classrooms, office space and a new main reception.

Our 30-metre covered walkway enables students to safely travel around their newly expanded school campus and leads to a busy covered entrance point. The T-frame canopies open up space for students and staff under a clear heat-soaked toughened glass roof.

Broxap’s patent glazing bar system helps to protect the lifespan of the roof, while the galvanised steel frames have been powder coated anthracite grey for a uniform finish and anti-corrosion properties.

Working in partnership with teams on site, our professionals were able to schedule the installation of the framework first, so paving works could be completed, before the glass panels were added.

As part of the project, a number of our flagship Derby Litter Bins were installed around the campus to keep it clean; and our Door Barriers help to protect the building against damages.
