Coleg Gwent is Wales' largest further education college in the former county of Gwent, South Wales. As of 2014, it had 24,000 students, ranging from secondary school leavers to mature students.
Broxap were commissioned to design and manufacture new litter and recycling bins for various campuses across the college.
Between the Crosskeys Campus and the Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone, 86 of our hard-wearing Daventry Double Recycling Bins and Daventry Triple Recycling Bins were installed. Each compartment within the bin is clearly labelled with visual images and text in both Welsh and English, as well as a unique aperture to help users identify what can and cannot be recycled. In busy areas, such as the café, bins were placed together to keep up with demand and prevent overflowing.
A number of our Derby Standard Litter Bins were also installed in high-foot-traffic areas, including hallways and entrance doors. This is part of an effort to improve sustainability and promote responsible waste disposal across the campus.
Thanks to the bright and efficient signage on the bins, litter around the college has been significantly reduced, and recycling has increased. The separation of food waste also allows Coleg Gwent College to comply with the new Simpler Recycling legislation, providing significant environmental benefits, reducing landfill waste and promoting the reuse and recycling of materials.
