Client: Kier Construction Limited
Year: 2025
Working alongside main contractor Kier Construction Ltd, Broxap was appointed to design, manufacture, and supply a comprehensive external infrastructure package. The objective was to create a clean, accessible, and welcoming outdoor environment that accommodates patients, visitors, and healthcare staff while providing durable perimeter protection and sustainable transport facilities.
Broxap supplied a tailored suite of street furniture, cycle parking shelters, and access control bollards designed to complement the modern architectural aesthetic of the new unit while offering maximum durability and ease of maintenance.

To ensure adequate rest points for patients and visitors navigating the unit grounds, a combination of contemporary concrete and timber-slatted seating was selected.
Unity Modular Curved Concrete Benches were placed along key pedestrian pathways, these heavy-duty concrete units offer a striking sculptural feel while providing robust, low-maintenance seating.
Ergonomically designed Coleshill slatted seats positioned across outer courtyards and waiting zones to provide comfortable, accessible outdoor seating.
Additional high-quality Penny concrete seating was installed near entrance points to ensure ample rest options across the site.
Encouraging sustainable travel for hospital staff and visitors was a core requirement of the site design.
A clean, minimalist Blox A Open Front shelter providing timber-accented weather protection for waiting patients and active commuters.
Located within close proximity to the shelter to offer secure, Stainless Steel Sheffield Cycle Stands provide corrosion-resistant parking for up to 8 bicycles.

Maintaining site cleanliness and controlling vehicle access around sensitive clinical entrances were paramount.
High-capacity, durable Westleigh litter bins strategically positioned to keep surrounding landscaped grounds tidy.
Permanent perimeter security demarcation, using root fixed mitred top Sheffield stainless steel bollards, separates pedestrian walkways from vehicle drop-off zones.
Removable Mitred Top Sheffield Stainless Steel Bollards installed at key access points allow maintenance and emergency vehicle access when required without compromising routine security.
Completed in March 2025, the exterior layout at Velindre, Nevill Hall Radiotherapy Unit successfully balances practical functionality with an inviting, therapeutic environment.
By utilising grade-316 stainless steel, heavy-duty cast concrete, and weather-resistant timber finishes, the installation ensures long-term performance under heavy daily use, helping the new unit deliver a supportive environment for patients and staff for years to come.
