As part of the major regeneration of Euston Station under the HS2 project, Broxap were awarded the contract to provide a series of canopied structures to provide passengers with cover at the temporary Taxi Rank associated with Euston Station. The existing Taxi Rank is below the current station entrance at the concourse and is designated to close to allow underground works to extend and construct new station areas to access the new HS2 platforms. This temporary Taxi Rank will provide weather protection to passenger for the next three years until the next phase will accommodate a redesign for this area of the station.

The design phase of the works was co-ordinated by CSJV (Costain Skanska Joint Venture) and included a number of technical design meetings between senior Broxap Executives and Design/Technical Teams from Costain, these were held at their offices adjacent to Manchester Airport.

All designs were compiled through liaison with Network Rail submission processes and the final taxi rank design was signed off for construction in June 2018, this included the following:

Phase 1 – NW Taxi Drop Off

Phase 2 – Central Taxi Pick Up

Phase 3 – Cycle Parking

Phase 4 – Eastern Cantilever

Phase 5 – Mobility Bays and Ramp

Phase 6 – Euston Forecourt Concourse: This also followed Phases 1-5 as an additional requirement to be supplied to the station for installation by others.

With an extensive and detailed design phase the processes were completed in accordance with the agreed programme and Broxap commenced manufacturing following receipt of the material order (Novated through CSJV to Lorclon ltd) with Broxap commencing Phase 1 works at the beginning of September 2018 . Work continued with weekly meetings with Broxap Contracts and Quality management teams and heads of HS2, CSJV and Lorclon to review the ongoing installation works.

In addition to the canopies Broxap also provided a Coventry Hi-Rise Cycle Shelter complete with Hi-Rise Two Tier Cycle Parking beneath giving cycling passengers the opportunity to stow cycles securely before entering the station.

With in excess of 200,000 people per day passing through the station meant the whole project this negated areas of the installation would need to be completed during the night when pedestrian traffic was minimal and could be safely diverted around the install areas. The entire temporary work project was due for completion in November 2018 however the complexity of the ongoing regeneration fo the station meant that all trades site were in some form delayed by the construction works going on below ground. Broxap went on to complete the Taxi Rank in January of 2019.
