Broxap’s Willenhall Steel Seat has been placed right at the heart of a brand new community project at Market Place, Wigan Town Centre.

Broxap have worked closely with Wigan Councils contractor, NMCN to create the perfect seating area for the people of Wigan.

Working with NMCN we have created a bespoke version of our timber and steel Willenhall Seat.

The seats have been installed as part of an ongoing project for Market Place, in Wigan Town Centre. Market Place, which has seen many improvements, is under restoration with the aims to provide the community with an attractive and practical social hub.

The improvements made are conscious to be in keeping with the unique, traditional style present in Wallgate. As well as being developed to complement major town centre events including: Run Wigan FestivalWigan 10K and Wigan Pride.

Positioning the seats unique curve has provided a sociable area suitable for building relationships and improving communication. A curved seating facility is a fantastic addition to any perspective community hub.

Council members hope that in the future “Market Place” will provide an attractive meeting place, good seating area and a more usable and flexible space for performances and events.

In the hopes of achieving this, Broxap installed 28 of their Willenhall Seats, creating a full seating space for members of the community. The seats were finished in a Black Ash coloured stain. Again helping to complement the traditional aesthetic of the surroundings.
