Located in a lively and modern community, close to Manchester’s city centre, Potato Wharf boasts character with its unique design. Comprising of one- and two-bedroom canal-side flats, the development offers sustainable features including an allocated cycle space for each property and a communal landscaped courtyard.

Broxap worked with Murraywood Construction to design and manufacture a durable post and rail system. Our Irwell PU posts and mild steel infill panels are galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and powder coated in matte black (RAL9005) to complement the surrounding buildings and add to the area’s modern living space.

The completed post and rail system runs adjacent to the Bridgewater Canal which first opened in 1761 and was Britain's first man-made waterway, taking a route independent of rivers.

Following the design by our in-house drawing office, the system was raked to be in line with the natural gradient while also keeping an equal distance between the bottom railing and the ground.

This project at Potato Wharf showcases the effectiveness of Broxap’s architectural elements in enhancing safety and community aesthetics.
