Staff and visitors to a leisure centre now have access to covered cycle parking.
Working with contractor Morgan Sindall Construction, Broxap Street Furniture designed, manufactured and installed a cycle parking area with space for up to 40 bicycles.
The cycle shelter and stands are located at The Centre in Slough – a brand new leisure centre offering a 115-station gym, eight-lane swimming pool and a four-court sports hall.
The Centre is one of a number of leisure sites which have been transformed  under a £62 million regeneration scheme.
The projects have all been driven by an increase in population in Slough and include the development of a 1,950 seat stadium and floodlit synthetic sports pitch; Slough Ice Arena and an activity centre featuring a high rope course and ten pin bowling.
The cycle shelter designed for The Centre is based on a continuous run of Broxap’s Coventry Gullwing Cycle Shelters.
The modular shelter has a clear clad roof and the galvanised steel frame was powder coated RAL 9006 White Aluminium and RAL 4008 Signal Violet to complement the leisure centre building.
A total of 20 mild steel Sheffield Senior Cycle Stands were installed underneath the canopy, enabling users to secure their bicycles out of the rain.
We also worked with Morgan Sindall on The Curve municipal building in Slough where our secure Blox range was installed.
