West Suffolk Council
West Suffolk Council has made recycling while out and about easier than ever with the installation of a brand-new suite of Broxap’s Derby litter and recycling bins.
Client: West Suffolk Council
Year: 2025
The rollout includes 36 Derby Standard Litter Bins, 40 Derby Wheelie Bin Housings, 13 Derby Double Recycling Bins (Hubbub Edition), 3 Stainless Steel Derby Double Recycling Bins (Hubbub Edition), and 8 additional Derby Double Recycling Bins (Hubbub Edition). Together, they’re helping to create cleaner, greener streets across West Suffolk including in Brandon, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, and Mildenhall.

Broxap’s Derby range was chosen for its strong combination of style, durability, and practicality, all qualities that make it one of the UK’s most trusted street furniture collections. Each bin is built to last, manufactured from hardwearing materials designed to withstand constant use and challenging weather conditions.
The classic Derby design ensures a consistent look across the area while providing easy access for routine emptying and maintenance. From the sturdy Standard Litter Bin to the versatile Wheelie Bin Housing, every model delivers performance the council can rely on, day in and day out.
To support West Suffolk’s new ‘Recycling on-the-Go’ initiative, the Council also introduced the Derby Double Recycling Bins, developed in partnership with the environmental charity Hubbub. These bins feature eye-catching colours, clear labelling, and intuitive apertures that make recycling simple and accessible for everyone.
The design helps reduce contamination by making it easy to separate plastic bottles and cans from general waste. The Stainless Steel Derby Double Bins add a premium finish in key town-centre locations while maintaining the same practical, recycling-friendly features.

Backed by McDonald’s and Hubbub, the initiative encourages residents and visitors to make sustainable choices while on the move. It follows the success of previous ‘In The Loop’ campaigns across the UK and Ireland, which have seen more than 500 bins installed and over 2.5 million plastic bottles and cans collected for recycling. In West Suffolk, the new bins were installed following close collaboration with local town councils and BIDs, ensuring each location meets local needs and supports community priorities.
The result is a cleaner, more coordinated approach to recycling in public spaces. By choosing the Derby range, West Suffolk Council has invested in a practical, long-term solution that supports its sustainability goals while enhancing the look and feel of its public spaces.
