How do canopies help hospitality venues?

If hospitality is the business of making people feel welcome, the entrance is where it starts. A canopy gives shelter from the weather, draws people in and marks the beginning of their connection with the brand.

  • More usable space: a permanent canopy turns a terrace, garden or courtyard into space that can be used in poor weather, helping venues keep seats available and capacity up through the year.
  • Welcoming entrances: an entrance canopy creates a focal point and guides guests to the main door, for example at a hotel.
  • Outdoor dining and social areas: covered seating areas let customers enjoy the outdoors while protected from the weather.
  • Staff welfare areas: sheltered spaces for breaks, and designated smoking shelters.
  • Longer stays at events: at sporting events, a shelter supports hospitality by giving visitors the option of staying, and spending, for longer.

What shelters are available for sports clubs and spectators?

Which canopies suit theme parks and leisure sites?

Tensile fabric canopies and polycarbonate shelters give visitors somewhere to rest, shelter from the rain or enjoy the shade. They are especially useful at large theme parks and leisure estates, where they can also double up as informal performance spaces. Canopies can cover a play area for all ages, create a designated outdoor area for dining, socialising or smoking, or form a covered link between existing buildings and facilities.

How do you specify a hospitality, leisure or sports canopy?

Specifying a canopy comes down to four choices, which you can filter on in the product range above:

  • Structure: freestanding or wall-mounted.
  • Style: duo-pitch, cantilever and curved roof designs, among others.
  • Material: steel, timber, polycarbonate, glass or tensile fabric, with steel cladding where required.
  • Fixing: base plated or root fixed, depending on the ground conditions and structure.

Broxap canopies use a modular construction that allows a simple fitment process, with optional extras such as lighting and CCTV to tailor the space to your requirements. They are available in a range of colours and are made to suit heavy use and harsh weather. BIM objects are available for selected products to support specifiers.

Can canopies be custom or made to match a venue?

Yes. Whether the site is a heritage location, a family-friendly attraction or a new restaurant, Broxap can design and build a canopy to match the style of the surroundings and create the right atmosphere. Our complete design and build service runs from initial ideas through to installation, and our canopies are manufactured in Staffordshire. Because Broxap also makes street furniture, your canopies and furniture can come from one supplier.
