As part of a £23 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project, almost the entire of Farnley Academy has been redeveloped. Part of this grand development had a large outside dining area in which they needed cover for.
The Academy had revealed that they didn’t want the usual ‘straight’ or ‘bus stop style’ shelter people tended to opt for in this type of application. They also didn’t want the shelter to be enclosed so there was still an air of al fresco dining.
After various consultations the Academy opted for a Bespoke Cambridge (Pickering) Style canopy. Broxap installed the canopy against a very tight schedule as all works had to be completed during the Summer break. The completed canopy spans an impressive 28m x 9m and creates and a wonderful area for outside dining.
