Radisson Red Hotel, Finnieston, Glasgow

Balfour Beatty Construction Scottish & Southern Division were tasked with constructing this new build Hotel in Finnieston, Glasgow, within their remit was the addition of a cycle parking shelter. The hotel is the brainchild of the Forrest Group but will be run by Radisson (Carlson Rezidor hotel group).

As part of the ADF Architect specification the cycle parking element was to be representative of the ‘angular’ and ‘contemporary’ styling that is featured throughout the Hotel itself.

Broxap were asked by Balfour Beatty to devise a shelter based around the original Architect recommendation and devised this steel and glazed angular cycle shelter to complement the hotels look and feel.

Constructed of galvanized steel and polyester powder coated to RAL9007 to complement the hotel  facade and clad with clear 10mm heat soaked & toughened glass side, back and roof panels. Within the shelter sit a series of ‘curved fin’ shaped stainless steel cycle stands.

The whole shelter provides a striking, sleek and dynamic addition to the Hotel whilst providing a functional and secure covered cycle parking area.
