The Gibraltar Passenger Shelter features traditional cast iron components and decorative spandrel brackets.

The Government of Gibraltar wanted to use these key design features to help maintain a traditionally British style. This traditional style has also been used at Sandbach in Cheshire.

Working directly for the Government of Gibraltar, Broxap was commissioned for the design & build of 80 new bus stop passenger shelters. This project, a part of the Government’s programme to improve the bus passenger transit network, was met with much enthusiasm by Broxap, having already established its street furniture products throughout the rock, including a redevelopment of Main Street, several years prior.

The design-brief was to create a series of shelters, which were to be functional and in-keeping with the characteristics of Gibraltar as a location, and the surrounding heritage environment it encapsulates.
