Timber Benches & Seats

Our heavy duty timber benches and seats are ideal for parks and outdoor spaces due to their excellent structural properties. Supplied in Hardwood Iroko, Teak, Oak and Balau, these traditional and elegant seating solutions, integrate effortlessly with the natural surroundings.

Timber seating can be left free standing in both very secure areas and where regular repositioning is required. Alternatively, bolt-down or concrete-in straps are used for a more secure fixing.

All Iroko seating is sourced from well established producers who have policies of sustainable forestry management. Supplied planed and sanded smooth, these timbers are graded to help reduce the degree of colour variation and may also be supplied in a dark oak based wood stain to enhance their appearance.

Our range of Teak seats (BX49) are also sanded with varying grades of grit sandpaper before receiving a minimum of 3 coats of a high quality solvent based lacquer. This is known as ‘Ultan Lasur’ and will require re-application on 6-12 monthly intervals, depending upon the individual circumstances.

Both timbers have excellent structural properties and have been used for centuries for shipbuilding.

Oak or Balau seats are woodstain treated and will require re-application on a regular basis dependent upon site situation.

Broxap’s range of Teak seats (BX49) undergo several stages of preparation involving sanding the timber with varying grades of grit sandpaper. Seats then receive a minimum of 3 coats of a high quality solvent based lacquer known as ‘Ultan Lasur’. Lacquer will require re-application on 6-12 monthly intervals depending upon the individual circumstances.

All timber products will show surface discolouring if regular maintenance is not carried out, however this will not affect the integrity or durability of the product itself. Particularly the Oak or Balau seats will require re-application of wood stain on a regular basis. (This is dependent on the site situation.)
