Cast Iron Picnic Benches

Cast iron picnic tables and benches are supplied as standard in grade 250 cast iron. Units may also be supplied cast in grade 450 /10 ductile iron, which is inherently stronger due to its composition and therefore is ideal for use in areas where increased integrity may be required. All cast iron components are finished with a primer undercoat and a 2-pack acrylic topcoat in a range of RAL/BS colours.

Broxap’s cast iron picnic benches are supplied with Hardwood Iroko slats as standard. Iroko is an extremely durable hardwood which is sourced from well established producers who have policies of sustainable forestry management. Slats on cast iron picnic benches have a number of coats of Sikkens wood stain protection, plus hand finished with several coats of wax.

All timber products require regular maintenance to preserve the surface finish. Surface discolouring will occur if regular maintenance is not carried out, however this will not affect the integrity or durability of the product itself. Maintenance schedules will vary depending on the type of external influences that the product is exposed to. Broxap recommend for the surface protection to be re-applied at a minimum of 12 month intervals.
