This school had many classrooms that opened out into external areas. This meant pupils had to traverse the playground or other outdoor areas in order to get to other lessons. Organisers at Saxon Way school asked Broxap to supply a series of shelters, configured as walkway canopies.

The idea was to not only solve the problem of sheltering the pupils, but also to add an aesthetic appeal to the existing school buildings.

Broxap used a series of their Tornado Tensile Fabric canopies along with a series of small Barton Tensile Canopies.

These stretch over the main entrance to the classroom block and out into the playground area, where it is paired with a Parasol to create a covered play area.

As a result of these school walkway canopies, pupils now stay dry when moving to classes.

What’s more, the shelters protect the classrooms themselves from overbearing sunshine. In short, the whole arrangement is highly practical and adds a modern look to the school!
