Newport Council required a series of bus shelters to help promote the use of public transport and provide an increased level of comfort and accessibility to passengers. Newport is a city and county borough in Wales, located on the River Usk near its confluence with the Severn Estuary.

Broxap designed, manufactured, and installed a series of traditional lightweight bus shelters throughout the district. Having supplied street furniture for over 75 years, we use a multidisciplinary approach to provide high-quality products and outstanding customer service.

The galvanised and powder-coated frames of the shelters provide longevity, and the toughened glass roof offers both durability and transparency. The solar-powered LED lighting array creates a pleasant atmosphere and the visibility required to avoid accidents in the dark. Each shelter also has a simple information board to display the timetable.

Broxap's team of experienced contractors installed the traditional lightweight bus shelters in various locations throughout the district. The shelters were installed on a concrete base to ensure stability and facilitate sloping landscapes, as many areas were not flat and level. The installation process was carried out with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and with safety as a top priority.

The shelters provided a comfortable and safe waiting environment for passengers, and the local community well-received the design. The shelters were durable and required minimal maintenance, making them a cost-effective solution for the council.
