RAF Benson Primary School is a local authority school located on the base at RAF Benson. It predominantly educates service children but is also open to local children who do not have a family member in the Services.

The school wanted to provide an outdoor dining area for their children to be able to eat their lunch in all weathers. They identified an area they could use situated within their playground and set about raising funds.

The school were successfully awarded a grant and Broxap worked with the school to ensure the shelter they wanted fell within their budget. We offered a bespoke Newcastle Senior style shelter, with bronze cladding to add extra protection against the suns harmful UV rays. We also offered free post protectors as the school were up against a tight budget and the shelter was to be located within a playground environment. We installed the shelter during term time with the minimal amount of disruption.

‘Everything went without a hitch. Your installation team are to be congratulated on their professionalism and co-operation.  With the tables we have purchased we can fit 40 pupils, or even 60 at a squeeze under the shelter, which is great. All round an excellent job’ Tim Thorpe – Site Manager, RAF Benson Community Primary School
