Crookstone Castle Primary ran a competition amongst the pupils to choose the colour for the cycle shelter that would be installed as part of a schools cycle parking project in 2015/16. The winner was chosen by the pupils with Lori Forrest, a Primary 6 pupil being the outright winner. The competition was originally intended to choose only the frame colour for the shelter however, Lori’s design was so striking that Glasgow City Council committed to deliver the design in its entirety.

Broxap were the chosen supplier of the cycle compound and provided a Wardale compound complete with cycle racks.

Matic Media were able to reproduce Lori’s design for the graphics at the front and rear of the shelter and these were fitted during the construction on site at the school. In addition to the striking graphics the design submitted had three different colours for the structural frame which Broxap were able to reproduce.
