Self-contained seating areas for customers and shoppers across Caerphilly County Borough have been installed.
A total of 14 Parklets manufactured by Broxap have been delivered and distributed to a number of busy town centres.
Offering a safe place to sit, eat and drink, or meet friends, the parklets are also a means of practical support for businesses rebuilding their trade following lockdown measures.
As well as extending the footprint of cafes and restaurants wanting to ensure seating is socially distanced, the Parklets provide dedicated facilities in the open air for customers who prefer to stay outdoors.
It is hoped the Parklets will help to inspire confidence among residents and visitors who are still concerned about the effects of Coronavirus.
The project has been funded by the Welsh Government through the Transforming Towns fund.
Caerphilly County Borough Council has positively encouraged a street café approach to the economic recovery and assisted with the parklet improvements in a number of town centres including Caerphilly, Blackwood and Bargoed.
Broxap has manufactured a series of Parklets featuring a galvanised steel frame and hardwood Iroko slats.
A PET plastic screen keeps the area bright and full of natural light and planters around the perimeter of the Parklet bring greenery to the urban development.
Our Parklet system is made up of modular structures which can be configured to any required shape or size. As a leading UK manufacturer of street furniture, our units can be designed to include seating; cycle parking; planters; benches; litter bins; and safety rails and barriers.
The flexible nature of the system also benefits from quick assembly and the option to extend the Parklet in the future.
