New state-of-the-art facilities have been officially opened at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College.
The first phase of the college’s Central Brighton Campus redevelopment includes a new public plaza and entrance area.
Broxap Street Furniture worked with contractor Willmott Dixon Construction to design and manufacture bespoke secure compounds as part of the cycle parking provision on campus.
The bike storage for students, staff and visitors includes spaces for more than 100 bicycles.
Two bespoke cycle stores were created by our engineers based on our secure Blox range.
The galvanised steel frames were clad with FSC European Redwood. The larger of the two stores was finished with a fob access single leaf secure gate.
Our Easi-Riser two tier cycle storage system was also installed, designed in bespoke configurations to maximise the use of space.
The Easi-Riser is a cost-effective, space saving parking system consisting of upper tier troughs with gas strut mechanism, and individual base plate Sheffield cycle stands on the lower tier.
A further 12 Sheffield stands were also installed on site.
The overall £14 million redevelopment was part-funded by a £5 million Local Growth Funding Grant awarded by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Coast to Capital, in recognition of the role the new facilities will have in driving forward the region’s economic growth.
As well as the outdoor plaza, state-of-the-art studios and classrooms have been designed specifically for creative and digital specialisms.
