Car parking areas are being repurposed for additional cycle parking at the University of Oxford, with storage provided by Broxap boosting the strategy’s environmental benefits.
At the new Life and Mind Building (LaMB), Broxap has installed a Blox Cycle Compound complete with a sedum roof.
This green ‘living roof’ benefits wildlife as well as prolonging the life of the compound by protecting the surface of the roof from the elements.
The Blox range is ideal for this option as the flat roof offers a practical solution to offsetting developments, creating new healthy habitats as well as contributing towards improved air quality, a reduction in urban heat and rain water management.
Working for Wates Construction, the Blox designed and manufactured by Broxap features FSC-certified Iroko cladding to a galvanised steel frame.
The secure compound houses the Easi-Riser 2-Tier Cycle Rack (Lift Assist). This space-saving cycle parking solution maximises the cycle parking spaces available.
This project for the LaMB boosted cycle parking capacity by an additional 108 cycle parking spaces.
The new build research facility houses the department of zoology, plant sciences and experimental psychology and will also be home to a new institute for antimicrobial research.
