After long-awaited permission for a new Morrisons superstore, the refurbishment of Acocks Green Town Centre was finally able to go ahead. The town had a large array of different products, which was proving difficult to maintain and manage.

Broxap was tasked with designing and manufacturing custom street furniture, including bollards and seating, to brighten the area. Our Eastgate Seats are the stars of the show, with a green and gold hand-finished frame and warm timber slats. They were installed in high-traffic areas, including shops and bus stations. Our Round Medium Cast Iron Bins were also finished in the same town colours and logos.

Signage columns provide directions to popular places, including the train station, the village marketplace and public toilets. Some fingerpost columns, topped with the same Castlefield finial, have flower baskets hanging from them, adding a splash of colour.

The custom display case features a header board resting on a single post, coated in RAL green 6028 and finished with the Acocks Green Shield logo and ‘’ACOCKS GREEN HERITAGE TRAIL’ text in gold. Ten of our Oldham Planters and Bournville Planters finished with gold banding, two fox and two shield vinyl logos, added greenery around the town centre.

All created as part of a suite, the street furniture range was completed in matching styles and colours to create coordination across the town. This refurbishment has given the town its distinct identity and vision that will live on for many years.
