Our Approach to Sustainability

At the heart of everything we make is a commitment to doing things better for people, places and the planet.

From responsibly sourced materials to smarter production methods, we’re building a more sustainable future one bench, bollard and bin at a time. Sustainability isn’t just a goal for us, it’s part of how we work every day.

Broxap’s 6 Principles of Sustainability

Product

We use recycled steel, stainless steel, cast iron and plastic materials wherever possible, and our products are made using efficient production methods and advanced technology. We’ve also adopted PROTEX®, our eco-friendly powder coating system that reduces environmental impact without compromising on quality or durability.

Process

We are lowering our operational carbon footprint. Our manufacturing facility is certified Zero Waste to Landfill, and we continuously improve our logistics to reduce emissions. Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001, ensuring our processes meet high environmental and quality standards.

Packaging

We keep our packaging minimal and practical, using materials that can be easily reused or recycled. Our shrink and bubble wrap are 30% recycled and we’ve shifted from new timber pallets to reconditioned pallets that are easier to handle and reused multiple times in the storage and transportation of our range of products.

Planting

Many of our designs help bring nature into spaces. Our shelters can feature green roofs that support biodiversity while helping to improve air quality. We also integrate planters directly into seating areas, adding greenery that makes public spaces feel more welcoming, calming, and connected to the natural environment.

Power

Our headquarters are powered entirely by REGO-backed renewable energy, including wind, solar, and hydro sources. We’ve also upgraded our  fleet of forklift trucks to electric models, eliminating fossil fuels and further reducing our carbon footprint. By investing in clean energy, we’re actively supporting a more sustainable future.

Procurement

All our manufacturing takes place at our modern Stoke-on-Trent factory. We work with suppliers who meet our standards for ethical, sustainable and responsible sourcing. For the past decade, we’ve held FSC Chain of Custody certification, which guarantees the timber we use comes from well-managed forests.

About Broxap

The way we do things, sustainability and beyond...

Our Responsibility

Innovation plays a big role in how we approach sustainability. We’re constantly looking for new ideas and better ways to reduce our impact while still delivering high-quality street furniture products and services.

That means rethinking how things are made, exploring materials that are more environmentally friendly, and using technology to make our operations more efficient.

Protecting the environment is a priority for us. We’re working to reduce our carbon emissions, cut down on waste and use energy more efficiently. That includes using cleaner power sources, being mindful of how we use water and materials, and finding better ways to reuse and recycle.

We’re also thinking more carefully about the resources we use, from the products we create to the spaces we work in, making smarter choices wherever we can.

We care deeply about the people who make our work possible, our employees, our customers, and the communities we’re part of.

It also means giving back, whether its through local community projects, volunteer efforts for charity events, or supporting causes that matter to our teams. We believe that doing good isn’t separate from doing business, it’s part of it.
