Located North of Cardiff, Cynon Valley Hospital (Ysbyty Cwm Cynon) is a minor injury unit that is managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. Providing rehabilitation beds, supporting therapy functions, Women & Children’s outpatient services and a significant mental health unit with both inpatient and outpatient services, the hospital sees over 450,000 people.
Patient care is placed at the heart of the building design, with a strong landscape that harnesses natural daylight. To complement the design, Broxap designed and manufactured a range of high-quality cycle parking and seating.
The Lightwood Cycle Shelter offers an elegant, curved, cantilever design which is strong and durable in construction. The shelters were finished with numerous runs of our Harrogate Cycle Stands that allow people to secure their bikes in a variety of ways.
Our Thornhill Seats were selected thanks to their outstanding durability. The contemporary benches feature steel framed sat with seven Iroko slats, adding a modern twist to the classic and comfortable bench.
A number of black polyurethane bollards rounded out the project, adding an extra layer of security to the hospital and contrasting the lightness of the building beautifully.
