Working with the main contractor on the project, Willmott Dixon, Broxap were asked to provide a wide range of external furniture and canopies to this new build school.
Price and design were intrinsic to getting the project on budget and Broxap proved to be a vital factor in manufacturing product that fitted both criteria.
Included in the package was a waterproof fabric (white PVC Mehler 7269) triple Conic tensile canopy this served as an outdoor dining area beneath which Broxap supplied a series of contemporary steel and timber picnic units featuring softwood timber slats with a powder coated galvanized steel framework.
To complement the picnic units Broxap also produced a series of benches again with a galvanized steel framework and FSC® (FSC-C122338) treated softwood timber slats.
Cycle parking was provided by a series of Apollo cycle shelters with a capacity for 40 cycles stored beneath on Harrogate stainless steel cycle stands. Harrogate stands were also utilised as outdoor door barriers to the main buildings, whilst a series of Derby Eco steel bins were provided to collect litter on play areas.
To provide demarcation and access control across the school frontage Broxap supplied a series of Hastings steel bollards with a flat top and recess to the neck, these were coated with RAL 9005 black.
Due to the near coastal location of the project steel products all received protection via elements such as a Zinc Rich Primer undercoat.
Elements such as the picnic units also received an anti-graffiti coating.
Broxap manufactured all elements to specification required and installed on site in-conjunction with Willmott Dixon’s building phases.
