We had the pleasure of designing, manufacturing, and installing a custom rainbow shelter for Co-op Academy Hamilton; a vibrant and practical addition that has transformed the outdoor space into a cheerful and functional area for pupils and staff alike.

The school wanted to create a sheltered outdoor zone where children could learn, play, and socialise while staying protected from the weather all year-round. Our solution was a custom-designed rainbow Newcastle Monopitch Shelter that brings a splash of colour and creativity to the playground.

The bright, rainbow-themed roof has become an instant hit with the children, making outdoor time more engaging and uplifting even on overcast days.

The shelter’s framework was expertly manufactured from high-quality steel, which was both galvanised and powder coated in Nimbus Grey for long-lasting durability and a sleek, modern finish. This combination ensures maximum resistance to corrosion, making it perfectly suited to withstand the demands of a busy school environment.

To effectively manage rainwater, we incorporated a full guttering and downpipe system, ensuring that the surrounding area remains dry and safe in all weather conditions.

The roof features a 16mm clear structured multi-wall polycarbonate system, chosen for its excellent light transmission and impact resistance. The addition of rainbow colours creates a stunning visual effect as sunlight filters through the vibrant hues. The result is a space that feels bright, welcoming, and full of energy, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the school.
