Working with Arriva Rail North Limited, Broxap were tasked with providing the station with a canopy solution that would serve the automated ticket barriers at the station car park entrance. At the car park side there is also a pair of automated ticket machines which would be covered by the canopy.
Broxap designed and manufactured two bespoke cantilever style canopies that would provide good coverage at both the car park adn platform sides of the station. The platform side canopy also doubles as a waiting shelter for passengers.
Utilising existing circular steel uprights to the rear Broxap added circular uprights to the front and incorporated tapered box section arms supported on circular purlins and a Larson aluminium composite panel roof with integral rear guttering Broxap created the canopies and powder coated the galvanized steel work in a Northern Rail Grey (RAL 7012) .
Broxap installed the canopies with minimal disruption to passengers and the end result gives them a more comfortable user experience at the station.
