A sleek, bespoke cycle shelter was incorporated into the design for a new £3.8 million health centre to encourage patients and staff to keep active.
Broxap was approached by contractor E G Carter & Co Limited to design, manufacture and install a canopy to complement the new two-storey Kingsway surgery and pharmacy in Gloucester.
Run by Rosebank Health, the flagship surgery caters for more than 13,000 patients and operates in partnership with another two Rosebank Health sites.
The new building includes 10 consulting rooms as well as training rooms, a pharmacy and four areas which are used for treatments and minor operations.
It was developed to ensure the right services were available in the right place for residents in the Kingsway area of Gloucester.
The cycle shelter, installed at the front of the building for use by patients and pharmacy customers, is based on our Burntwood Canopy design and can accommodate parking for up to 10 bikes.
The trapezoidal metal profile roof was finished in Anthracite Grey to match cladding on the building with the framework finished in Graphite Grey.
Uprights were clad in Western Red Cedar timber, again to complement construction features of the main surgery.
