Growing demand for school places has been met with the creation of a new academy which has been designed to accommodate future expansion.
The outdoor spaces at Winchburgh Academy have been fully utilised and a keen focus placed on supporting sustainable travel options.
Broxap Street Furniture, working for contractor Malcolm Construction Services, designed and manufactured a wide range of products to support active travel and outdoor learning and dining opportunities.
Two runs of Cambridge shelters, both accompanied by four Sheffield Cycle Racks, each offer cycle parking for 48 bikes.
Further cycle parking, including visitor spaces, is available with 20 Stainless Steel Sheffield Cycle Hoops installed on site. A mild steel single sided Scooter Rack was also supplied.
A sense of pride in the site is being generated with customised litter bins, featuring a bespoke laser cut design, available at the front of the building.
These eight 120-litre Derby Contemporary Litter Bins are complemented with a further six Derby E Litter Bins situated throughout the campus.
Seven Hodnet Timber Seats and five Cuerdon Timber Benches offer sturdy and reliable seating, and are a natural fit with the landscape.
A total of 11 Alphabet picnic units, made from recycled plastic, continue the sustainability theme and the order was completed with 35 high-quality Stainless Steel bollards and 68 Stainless Steel Hoop  Barriers with Tapping Rails.
Winchburgh Academy opened in September 2022 and is the first of two secondary schools being built as part of a state-on-the-art education village. A primary school and a sports and leisure facility are also included in the campus plans.
