A new covered outdoor dining experience has opened for students at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy in Lincoln.
The academy decided to introduce a catering pod to the school grounds to reduce pressure on indoor dining facilities and provide a ‘grab and go’ option for students attending lunchtime clubs and study sessions.
The catering trailer serves a range of hot and cold food but teachers at the secondary school wanted to improve the offer further with the introduction of a series of canopies where students can enjoy their lunches.
It turned to Broxap to design, manufacture and install a solution around the existing layout of the school and the area where the cater pod is located.
As well as accommodating outdoor dining, the canopies had to provide significant shelter for students as the Academy continues to grow.
In response, our team came up with bespoke Newcastle Monopitch Canopy designs, drawing on the advantages of the modular system which will allow the school to extend or adapt the shelters in the future.
The project included a six-metre covered area outside The Pit Stop catering pod for Years 10 and 11, served by a Newcastle Monopitch canopy featuring clear multiwall polycarbonate roof cladding and galvanised steel framework powder coated Anthracite Grey.
These design features were replicated in two further bespoke Newcastle Monopitch canopies, both 20 metres long.
