Playground Canopies & Shelters

Playground canopies are becoming increasingly important for primary and secondary schools and academies, contributing to the health and wellbeing of pupils and staff in many different ways.
Rising temperatures mean creating areas of shade with a playground canopy or playground shelter is vital to sun safety.
A canopy, such as a fabric structure or school shade sail, can support sunlight exposure policies by raising awareness of the risks of spending time outside in the sun.
Our fabric canopies are constructed using a PVC fabric that is both 100% waterproof and offers 100% UV protection.
This extends the usefulness of the playground canopy, creating a dry and safe place for play or learning all year round.
The addition of a playground shelter creates a multi-functional space, instantly adding value and purpose a school’s outdoor area.
Our timber canopies for example include gazebos and pavilions which can be designed to feature integrated seating.
These types of canopies and shelters are also ideal for outdoor learning or can even be utilised as performance and events space.
A polycarbonate canopy is a good choice for schools where the classrooms lead straight out into the playground, encouraging pupils to make use of outdoor space.
At Broxap, we offer an extensive range of modular canopies allowing clients to easily extend their shelter provision.
These playground canopy designs are popular among primary and secondary education sites.
A well as providing outdoor classroom space or covered play areas, polycarbonate canopies are often used to provide outdoor dining areas.
Sports tracks and playing fields may also benefit from a playground shelter, offering covered storage for lockers or a sheltered spectator area. Our range of youth shelters and recreation shelters serve as social spaces for older students while drop off and pick up points in playgrounds may be improved with a canopy to protect waiting pupils.

Thank you so much for the great work your company has done for us.  The bike shelters are full every day.  Please pass on our thanks to the installation team too.

St Aidan’s CE High School

“It’s been a long time since we last spoke, I realise that I have been remiss in telling you what a fantastic job Broxap did on our first shelter, the teachers, pupils and parents have been over the moon with the availability of shelter, especially over the last few months of rain!!! It has been a brilliant meeting place and the children have been using it to eat lunch outside the last week or so, whilst keeping out of the April showers.”
